This is the best tzatziki recipe ever! Tzatziki sauce is a cool and creamy Greek spread that is made using yogurt, cucumbers, lemon and dill.

  • 1 cup full-fat thick yogurt, plain flavor
  • 1/3 cup fresh dill, stems removed, chopped finely
  • 2 Persian cucumbers, grated finely (or 1/2 an English/Japanese cucumber)
  • 1 tsp dried garlic powder
  • zest + juice of 1/2 lemon
  • 1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp red wine vinegar

  1. Combine yogurt, extra-virgin olive oil and red wine vinegar
  2. Add salt, pepper and roasted garlic powder
  3. Add zest of 1 lemon. Set aside to juice later
  4. Grate cucumber over the yogurt mixture on a box grater using the middle setting (usually it's the smaller of the two large sides)
  5. Chop dill and add to the sauce
  6. Add the juice of half your zested lemon, then taste. If you'd like more lemon, add the juice of the remaining half.
  7. Serve alongside pita, veggies, or anything good for dunking! This will last ~3 days in the fridge
